Type of Surrogacy
There are two type of surrogacy which a intended parent can consider
Traditional Surrogacy:In this type of pregnancy a surrogate mother becomes pregnant through artificial insemination. She becomes pregnant when her own egg is fertilized by sperm from the intended father or donor sperm, however, TRADITIONAL SURROGACY IS NOT LEGALLY ALLOWED IN INDIA.
Gestational Surrogacy:In this type of surrogacy, the egg from the intended mother or an egg donor is fertilized by sperm from the intended father or a donor sperm. This is legally allowed in India and common than traditional surrogacy.
The couple/ egg donor undergoes IVF + ICSI(ovum pick up) treatment in the usual way, at the same time surrogate mother is also prepared for the IVF cycle by giving medicines and she undergoes embryo transfer. The IVF cycle of the intended parent / surrogate/ egg donor if applicable is synchronized .The genetic constituent is totally of the couple only ( if no egg donor is used) and the surrogates womb works as the house for the unborn baby. Immediately after birth she hands over the child to the genetic parents.
Pregnancy is confirmed when there is heart beat in the fetus around 6-7 weeks of pregnancy . We will be in contact with you at each step i.e. at 11-13 week scan, 18-20 wk scan , and 30-32 wk scan . You can keep in touch with your surrogate through skype and fixed line mobile phones . The surrogate is booked in a private hospital for delivery .The hospital and our legal team is ready for coordination of all the legal documents for the baby.
For domestic parents all the documentation is done in 2-3 days but for international patients it takes two to four weeks after child is discharged from hospital .The legal team is abreast with all the international laws and we will help you through this phase.
